August 04, 2008 - BB9000 Series Large Square Balers Producer Denser Bales

New Holland, PA--New Holland’s BB9000 Series large square balers produce  consistent, dense, solid bales that stack well and withstand repeated handling. Overall bale density has been increased by up to five percent with product enhancements. Additional improvements include a new, narrow hitch for greater maneuverability, and oil-immersed gearboxes and automatic greasing for reduced service requirements and improved durability.

Consistent, denser bales
A number of design modifications have been made on the BB9000 Series balers to improve overall bale density, including larger bale density cylinders on the BB9080; a new door balancer; longer, lower bale chamber floor; and improved top-fill of the bale. With the new knotter design, there is virtually no strain on the twine and knotter components during bale formation, allowing for higher bale density. Updated density software provides smoother feeding and better density control.

Choice of monitors
BB9000 Series offers a choice of three monitor systems to control the baler. Operators can control baler function by using their own tractor monitor (if ISOBUS 11782); the economical black & white InfoView® II monitor, or the advanced, color IntelliView™ III touch-screen monitor. The IntelliView monitor provides convenient fingertip operation and can be linked to an optional rearview camera for improved visibility.

CropCutter® systems
Optional CropCutter®  Packer Cutter and Rotor Cutter systems are available to produce silage bales. CropCutter cuts the crop into small pieces that are packed tightly into each high-capacity, high-density bale. These bales are denser, easier to feed, and easier for livestock to eat and digest.

The “W” pattern rotor moves crop from the pickup and through a bank of knives into the pre-compression chamber. The cutting force is divided equally over both rotor halves to improve cutting efficiency and reduce power and fuel requirements.

Three CropCutter configurations are available: six knives on the BB9060 Packer Cutter; 33 knives on the BB9060 Rotor Cutter; and 17 knives on the BB9080 Rotor Cutter

Depending on the model and cutting system, tractor requirements for BB9000 Series balers range from 102 hp to 150 hp.
